Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to:

Lead the development, launch, and commercialization of Philips’ next-generation patient monitoring platforms, including the Synergy Software ecosystem and the Delta hardware program. Together, these programs will form the Patient Monitor 9000 Series, the strategic replacement for the current IntelliVue portfolio. This role translates mid- to long-term market developments into product, software, and lifecycle strategies, ensuring timely portfolio evolution in line with emerging clinical and technological needs.

The Product Manager leader defines and manages the product portfolio, integrates plans across R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, and delivers complete business plans to support new technologies and markets. By collecting and analyzing market insights, shaping new product ranges, and contributing to overall business strategy, this role ensures Philips maintains leadership in patient monitoring through the successful transition from IntelliVue to the 9000 Series.

You are responsible for

  • Responsible for upstream marketing activities for the lifecycle, services, products, and solutions, including definition of the strategy and its enablers, with a specific focus on the Synergy Software platform and Delta hardware program as the foundation of the Patient Monitor 9000 Series. Ensure alignment with key global markets.
  • Lead value proposition development for Synergy and Delta, the Patient Monitor (PM) 9000 Series portfolio, based on customer insights and Health Economics analysis in lead markets.
  • Define and maintain portfolio, product, lifecycle, professional services, software, and clinical claims roadmaps that support the transition from IntelliVue MX series to the PM 9000 Series.
  • Develop robust business cases to support new value creation across the 9000 Series portfolio.
  • Own pricing strategy (price setting) and margin optimization for the PM 9000 Series (based on Synergy and Delta), and related services and solutions.
  • Define and execute in alignment with Commercial Regions and Zones the channel and go-to-market strategy for the Patient Monitor 9000 Series portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Quality & Regulatory requirements for new and existing products and solutions. These include a comprehensive regulatory strategy for release planning in the US (FDA 510K), Europe (CE EUMDR) and various regulatory bodies across international markets.
  • Drive definition, development, and launch of new products, solutions, lifecycle services, and professional services— of Synergy and Delta drived product lines such as the PM9000 series—while enabling cross-business solution development to address evolving customer needs (including services, consumables, system connectivity and interoperability).
  • Oversee lifecycle management and market readiness activities as part of PDLM and its variations.
  • Ensure delivery of all key materials (feature descriptions, value propositions, costing/pricing/quoting documents, etc.) to support launch of the 9000 Series.
  • Hold P&L responsibility for product, software, lifecycle, professional services, and solutions within the Synergy and Delta programs, including development of business cases that enable sustained profitability.
  • Lead customer and market insights efforts: analyze global markets, competition, and trends across enterprise-level technologies to ensure the 9000 Series portfolio anticipates and meets market needs. Develop and maintain needs-based customer segmentation supported by Market Intelligence.
  • Translate market and customer insights, as well as competitive analyses, into winning concepts and clear product, lifecycle, software, and service specifications for Synergy and Delta release trains, ensuring long-term business success.
  • Guide and drive the development of new patient monitoring solutions—including Synergy and Delta—from concept through final launch, balancing performance, price, and time-to-market for defined market segments.
  • Govern alignment across business units, business categories, and product teams on shared roadmaps for the 9000 Series (Synergy & Delta platforms), ensuring coordination of physiological parameters and measurements, connectivity and interoperability with systems, remote-enabled services and installation, as well as alternative use cases in OB, MRPC, and other acute care segments.
  • Lead and manage stakeholder engagement across regional and zone commercial leaders, executive-level leadership (ExCo, Board of Management), and cross-functional partners. Drive alignment on quality and regulatory strategies, supply chain and manufacturing strategies to ensure resilience and business continuity, while bringing the voice of the customer and competitive differentiation into strategic decision-making for the PM 9000 Series.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary stakeholders (Innovation, R&D, design agencies, manufacturing, suppliers, marketing, solution delivery, marcom, and international sales) to ensure seamless execution of Synergy and Delta / PM9000 series related initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Education Innovation organization, supporting design, development, and review of education services and content (internal and external) for the 9000 series.
  • Deliver expertise to enable proper transfer of knowledge on system use (train-the-trainer) to market resources, ensuring readiness for PM 9000 series commercial deployments.
  • Lead techniques to evaluate data from live products, including how to design and execute various A/B and multivariate tests to shape the next iteration of a product
  • Evaluate the output captured in statistical analyses and translate them into insights to inform product decisions
  • Analyze & synthesize data to deliver actionable, impactful & visual recommendations to the business to enable data-driven decision making Develop data-enabled control point opportunities and plans to secure them
  • Articulate positioning in the Ecosystem and which ecosystem to be part of
  • Develop monetization models to extract value form data-enabled offerings
  • Leverage market knowledge data to amplify product development
  • Apply data science techniques, data engineering processes, and market experimentation tests to deliver customized product experiences
  • Develop data pipelines and warehousing strategies that prepare data collected from a product for robust analysis

You are a part of

The Philips Hospital Patient Monitoring Business that is responsible for global marketing, development and manufacturing of patient monitoring systems and solutions throughout the Hospital care continuum. You will be part of the NextGen Acute & Transitional Care Monitoring Product Management team that focuses on the ideation, value proposition, development, launch and lifecycle management of patient monitoring solutions through the Enterprise of the Hospital. This position is based in Boeblingen, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany and you will report to the Category Leader for NextGen Acute & Transitional Care Monitoring Category.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferably in biological / clinical science / nursing, marketing or business administration preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of medical products and solutions experience in local and global roles.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or related roles.
  • Highly entrepreneurial and eager with a natural affinity for healthcare business, an interest in development and implementation of clinical workflows in the acute care segment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the passion to drive business growth. Ability to think creatively and pragmatically and convert customer feedback into valuable insights that can help drive the development of programs and solutions.
  • Must have a good understanding of the global acute care segment environment to effectively respond to global market concerns and provide technical and clinical support for products
  • Experience with definition of value propositions and product development processes.
  • Ability to competently represent the Company at professional functions and customer meetings
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible enough to change priorities with short notice when necessary
  • Sets a standard of ethics and excellence in ensuring quality standards
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment with distributed accountabilities and unclear precedents. Must be able to work in a team and independently with minimal direction.
  • Solid spoken and written English preferred.
