Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Reconciliation (DEIR) Coordination & Program Specialist, you will provide operational, research, and communications support to ensure the smooth delivery of Vancity’s DEIR programs. The role coordinates logistics for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), the Workplace Inclusion (WIN) Program, BC Talent Programs and DEIR events. It maintains systems and documentation, tracks outcomes, and prepares communications and reports that enable the DEIR team to deliver inclusive, high-impact initiatives, with a focus on consistent and reliable coordination.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Manager, DEIR. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.

How You'Ll Make An Impact:

Program Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, communications, and tracking for DEIR program activities, including Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), internal events, WIN sessions, and BC Talent Program initiatives.
  • Provide logistical support for inclusion campaigns, job fairs, Pride activities, and other cultural observances.
  • Manage calendars, bookings, and milestone tracking to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Provide administrative or coordination backup to the DEIR Director, Senior Consultants, or Program Leads as needed.
  • Lead small projects that improve program delivery, participation, or engagement.

Research & Data Insights

  • Collect and analyze participation and engagement metrics; prepare summary reports and contribute to quarterly and ad hoc reporting for leadership.
  • Monitor internal/external policy changes, accessibility guidelines, and DEIR sector trends; prepare scans and share insights with the team.

Systems & Tools Management

  • Maintain and improve DEIR systems and tools (Asana, SharePoint, InSite), trackers, inbox requests, and team documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead small process improvement projects to enhance DEIR operations and documentation.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Experience in program coordination, event planning, or project support, preferably in a DEIR, HR, or community-focused environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and inclusive messaging
  • Comfort working with systems and tools (e.g., Asana, SharePoint, MS Office) with a curiosity to find efficiencies and improve processes
  • Research and data analysis skills to prepare reports and share insights
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience working in a DEIR role or supporting DEIR-focused programs
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines, employment equity legislation, or DEIR sector best practices
  • Experience working in the financial services, credit union, or non-profit sector

What You’Ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $49,700 to $74,500 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
