Position Summary
The Events Manager, China will lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of events across China. This role is critical in building brand awareness, driving lead generation, and engaging key stakeholders including researchers, CROs, and industry partners. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in scientific event management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute high-impact events including scientific conferences, user group meetings, roadshows, workshops, customer seminars, and webinars across key cities in China.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, and Regional Leadership to ensure event strategy aligns with commercial goals, product launches, and key messaging.
- Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors and venues, and ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and compliance with company policies.
- Tailor global event content and formats to the Chinese market, ensuring cultural and language relevance. Coordinate translations and local speakers as needed.
- Work closely with Sales and Commercial Operations to define lead capture strategies, track event ROI, and analyze post-event performance and customer engagement.
- Plan and manage virtual or hybrid events leveraging appropriate technologies to extend reach and impact.
Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Biology, Chemistry, or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B event management in the life sciences industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written).
- Proven success managing both small and large-scale scientific and commercial events.
- Strong project management and multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Proficient with event technology platforms (e.g., WebEx, Salesforce, Pardot, or equivalent).
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to sit and stand for long periods. The individual is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. This position requires travel up to 30%.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a standard office environment, remote or hybrid model.
