Company Description

MEDFAR Clinical Solutions was founded in 2010 by two aeronautical engineers who realized that the healthcare system was not exploiting the full potential of technology. Supported by a large community of medical experts and focused on clinical success and patient safety, MEDFAR was the first company to certify a cloud-based Electronic Medical Record in Canada: MYLE (Make Your Life Easy).

Committed to promoting excellence and effectiveness in healthcare worldwide, MEDFAR differentiates itself by offering a unique healthcare management solution for clinics, which replaces inefficient processes with a faster and safer technological alternative.

Job Description

Join our AI/ML integration layer team responsible for delivering AI capabilities to internal product squads and external stakeholders.
You will build and maintain the end‑to‑end data tooling that connects production systems to AI/ML services—covering ingestion, transformation, feature delivery, evaluation datasets, observability, and secure access—so models and AI-powered features can be developed, deployed, and continuously improved at scale.
Your work will be critical in enabling the team to extract insights, monitor trends, and identify weaknesses in production models.

This is a unique opportunity for a data engineer who wants to own the full data stack and shape how data engineering is done across the organization.

What You’Ll Do

  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest, process, and structure large volumes of data from multiple sources.
  • Design scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant data workflows using modern data engineering tools.
  • Establish the data architecture and strategy for handling structured and unstructured datasets in production.
  • Ensure data pipelines meet quality, security, and performance standards.
  • Partner closely with data scientists and AI software developers to provide access to datasets for experimentation, model evaluation, and monitoring.
  • Deploy and optimize data workflows in cloud environments
  • Develop processes for data validation, observability, and monitoring to guarantee accuracy and consistency.
  • Continuously evaluate new tools and frameworks to improve scalability, cost efficiency, and maintainability.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, combined with 5+ years of hands-on experience in building production-grade data pipelines and workflows; OR an equivalent combination of education and 7+ years of relevant practical experience.
  • Proven expertise with AI/ML production pipelines and knowledge of model monitoring
  • Experience with data engineering and orchestration tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Databricks Jobs, Airflow, etc.) to schedule, monitor, and recover pipelines; enforce idempotency, schema evolution, and backfills.
  • Experience with distributed data processing frameworks  (Apache Spark, PySpark, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Familiarity with working with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of data quality, governance, and security best practices.
  • A builder’s mindset, proactive, detail-oriented, and excited to design data systems from scratch.
  • Bilingual (French and English)

Working Conditions:

  • Contract: Permanent, full time (40h/week)
  • Working mode: Hybrid or full remote
  • Occasional in-office presence may be required during the year (for events or team meetings, for example).
  • Candidates must reside in the province of Quebec.

Additional Information

  • Remote work and flexibility (supporting work-life balance)
  • RRSP contribution
  • Healthcare insurance from day one
  • Paid time off: 3 weeks + 1 additional week between Christmas and New Year
  • Annual training allowance ($1,500) to support your professional development
  • An onboarding program to help you get familiar with our environment and the digital healthcare field
  • All IT equipment is provided, with additional gear if needed
  • Internal growth opportunities (promotions, internal mobility)
  • Support from a wellness and social committee, with initiatives to foster team cohesion, mental health, and employee well-being
  • A company culture focused on transparency, collaboration, and innovation
  • Join a dynamic and innovative environment where your work has a real and wide-reaching impact, helping to modernize healthcare in Canada and internationally
