Role Overview/Purpose: Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the Open Pit Mine Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient production. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with expertise in open pit mine operations and a solid focus on safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Promote and maintain strict adherence to all Health, Safety, Environmental and Community Relations standards.
- Coordinate scheduling of operators and equipment to achieve production goals for tonnes, grade, stripping and equipment utilization in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner.
- Review and monitor key operating targets including safety, attendance, productivity, quality control, and environmental compliance.
- Assign, prioritize and supervise all mine operations tasks and activities with an emphasis on safety.
- Collaborate with the training team to ensure access and participation for current and upcoming initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Lead and mentor the operations team to ensure professional development and career growth opportunities.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation including reports and KPIs.
- Participate in the detailed planning and setup for cross shifts.
- Work under the direction of the Mine Operations Superintendent to maintain the pit dewatering system and other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience supervising in a surface mining environment

Working Conditions:
- The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 14 days on / 14 days off (12-hour shifts).
- Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
