Legal Counsel

Company Description

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our growing in-house legal team. You will work across a broad range of international commercial, regulatory, and corporate matters, supporting a fast-moving global aviation business. This is a varied role where you will take ownership of high-value transactions, provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders, and help strengthen our governance framework as the organisation continues to expand worldwide.

Job Description

• Take ownership of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating high-value commercial contracts with international clients, suppliers, and partners
• Provide pragmatic legal advice on cross-border commercial and regulatory matters, balancing legal risk with business opportunity
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior management and stakeholders across the business
• Review and quality-check legal documents prepared by junior lawyers to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Mentor and support the development of junior team members
• Escalate material risks and advise on sensitive matters
• Contribute to legal processes, playbooks, and templates to drive efficiency across the department
• Support wider governance and compliance initiatives as the organisation expands internationally

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with at least 4 years’ PQE (UK or equivalent jurisdiction)
• Strong in-house experience (directly, or via secondment), ideally within an international, fast-paced commercial environment
• Proven track record of handling complex cross-border contracts and regulatory issues
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts in a clear and practical way
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance legal risk against business opportunity
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working with senior management
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers desirable
