Job Description

The Commercial Lending Product Manager is primarily responsible for the development, execution and analysis of products and related strategies, initiatives, and planning for the business and commercial lending solutions. This role will analyze industry trends, evaluate competitive positioning and utilize data analytics to help create strategies to increase market share and optimize performance. The position also ensures regulatory compliance, as well as oversight of quality control programs, loan reviews and coordination of satisfying audit related findings.

Core Job Requirements/Outcomes

  • Research and evaluate the effectiveness of new and existing products, programs and projects by reviewing product-related risk and production performance, updates, changes and compliance requirements.
  • Provide portfolio monitoring through analytics tools by reporting on concentration risk, delinquency and charge-offs, profitability, probability of default, credit scores and LTV migration, portfolio stress testing and expected loss modeling to ensure maximum portfolio optimization.
  • Maintain compliance across the business and commercial product suite by regularly reviewing processes against regulatory and internal policy standards.
  • Provide oversight of credit union appraisal management by reviewing and recommending changes to the Real Estate Valuation Policy, evaluating and reporting on Broker Opinions of Value and E&O title providers and responding to inquiries regarding appraisal quality and performance.

Other Essential Functions

  • Serve as a business analyst and perform competitive research to support various projects, product/service recommendations and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with the lending frontline and operation teams, other product managers, digital channels, risk and compliance, and Continuous Improvement to ensure strategic initiatives and goals are met.
  • Maintain knowledge of rules, regulations and industry standards in regard to regulatory compliance and any other matters of interest related to business and commercial lending.
  • Manage assigned vendor relationships by communicating regularly with vendor contacts, facilitating open discussions
  • Lead departmental projects or consult on organizational projects that contribute to the evolvement of STCU’s culture and strategic vision and/or achievement of goals.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field required.

Job Experience: Minimum five years’ experience in the commercial lending field including advanced knowledge of lending regulations, compliance standards, technology and the commercial loan processes. Minimum three years of successful leadership experience required including experience in delegating, facilitating change, mentoring, problem solving, coaching and counseling staff. Knowledge of Interagency Appraisal and Evaluations Guideline and knowledge of all approved valuation documentation (ex. BPOs and Appraisal formats)

Software Skills: Knowledge of applicable LOS, POS and core systems required. Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Other: Perform additional duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the department and the organization.
