The Analyst/ Sr Analyst, Cybersecurity Risk is part of the Technology Division. This role plays a critical role in protecting American Airlines’ digital ecosystem by identifying and managing cybersecurity risks. You will help shape the airline’s cybersecurity strategy by analyzing internal and third-party risks.

What You'Ll Do

  • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments across internal systems and third-party vendors
  • Support and enhance the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program, including vendor onboarding and continuous monitoring
  • Analyze cybersecurity risks and provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization
  • Collaborate with teams in IT, Legal, Procurement, and Business Units to ensure risk awareness and mitigation
  • Maintain risk registers and support the development of risk metrics and dashboards
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cybersecurity risk policies, standards, and procedures

All You'Ll Need For Success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in cybersecurity risk analysis, third-party risk management, or IT audit
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, or CISM
  • Experience with GRC platforms (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow GRC)
  • Knowledge of cloud security, data privacy regulations, and emerging cybersecurity threats
  • Experience in the airline, transportation, or other regulated industries

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and risk management tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical cybersecurity risks into business impacts
  • Project management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
