Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The role of the Senior Manager, Patient Access Research is to coordinate and execute the evidence generation strategy that align to the commercial priorities through the lens of expanding patient access to Intuitive technologies.  This role will lead the design of studies via scientific approaches with a focus on health equity, social and structural determinants of health and humanistic value.  This leader will collaborate with global commercial teams across multiple business units and other GAVE (Global Access, Value and Evidence) centers of excellence to conduct research and lead collaboration with co-authors to produce scientifically rigorous evidence in support of the Quintuple Aim.

This individual will report to the Sr. Director for Health Policy & Patient Access Research.

Essential Job Duties

  • Design and execute large scale database projects in alignment with objectives outlined by the HPPAR COE
  • Align publication planning with global commercial priorities
  • Develop pull through strategies for implementation science and potential for health policy shaping
  • Identify data assets to be utilized for patient access research
  • Lead the design and execution of evidence from inception to completion, statistical analysis plan (SAP), study reports, abstracts, and manuscripts.
  • Manage and develop project deliverables, including models, reports, abstracts, manuscripts, and slide decks, as appropriate. Effectively disseminate the project results to the cross functional teams and generate meaningful research impact
  • Collaborate with academia, professional societies and subject matter experts
  • Manage a team of health equity researchers and epidemiologists
  • Manage research projects with external collaborators/vendors to ensure timely completion and quality of deliverables as well as budget/legal compliance.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively in a highly matrixed team environment.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience of designing and executing observational studies
  • Record of publications in health economics, health services research, patient access research or public health
  • Strong methodological skills (study design, data analysis and interpretation) in health services research
  • Expertise in statistics (particularly causal inference and Bayesian inference), or data science, including addressing challenges from incomplete, unrepresentative, and mislabeled data
  • Strong statistical programming skills
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to distill complex information into concise and impactful messages and presentations.
  • Leadership/management experience

Required Education and Training

  • PhD degree in health economics, public health, health policy and management, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related field
