The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Fund Operations based in Toronto, you will focus primarily on bank loan settlements and other operational workflows across various products including separate accounts closed-end funds, and CLOs. Critical responsibilities include the review of LSTA/LMA documents and delivering industry leading settlement times across the platform. Leading a small team of operational team members and maintaining strong relationships with legal, trading and portfolio managers.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee outsource provider for LSTA and LMA settlements
- Maintain KPIs with outsource provider to push for better than market settlement times
- Proactively engage with traders, portfolio managers, tax, fund accounting, legal and compliance
- Coordinate, review, and approve corporate actions
- Ability to solve complex loan settlement issues and push trades to settlement
- Leverage relationships with counterparties and agents to drive best in class results
- In depth knowledge of credit agreements and sections specific to loan settlements
- Oversee KYC process for loan settlements including familiarity of all KYC documents
- Supervise and mentor a small team of other trade operations members
- Lead weekly calls with trading and PMs on settlement related issues
- Partner with technology to fix OMS issues including requests to improve business
- Ability to manage Ad-Hoc requests and solve novel issues as they arise
- Understand how to calculate delayed comp, cost of carry, and economic benefit
- Collaborate with trustee to resolve funding and other loan related issues
- Manage liquidity for all funds across platform including knowledge of various subscription and asset-based lending
What You Bring:
- Minimum 2-3 years experience for Associate OR Minimum 4-5 years experience for Senior Associate
- Strong history of loan market experience
- Strong understanding of master- feeder fund structures, CLO structures and trading strategies
- Experience working with bank debt, bonds, equities, and FX swaps
- Experience working with Advent Geneva, WSO, Black Mountain, Clear Par and Broadridge a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills and a friendly, service-oriented attitude
- Ability to self-start, multi-task and positively deal with a shifting demand for time
- Presence and self-confidence to interface with the key constituents of the firm including clients, senior executives, and other stakeholders
- Proven history of managing small teams to execute on daily operations
- Experience with subscription and asset-based lending. TRS experience is a plus
