What are SolidFlow batteries?    

SolidFlow batteries store energy in organic molecules. The absence of explosive materials makes them safe, the use of socially and ecologically conflict-free raw materials makes them sustainable and the almost unlimited availability of materials makes them scalable and cheap to procure. This makes our patented SolidFlow technology a game changer in the development of a global climate-neutral energy system.   

From start-up to scale-up: we're tackling it together    

CMBlu Energy is developing from a start-up focussing on research into a manufacturing scale-up that is on its way to series production. Around 240 employees are working towards this goal at CMBlu Energy. Our head office is in Alzenau near Frankfurt, with a branch office in Obernburg. There are also subsidiaries in Athens, Greece and Petaluma, USA.    

The Product Owner Hardware Development (m/f/d) works with an interdisciplinary team to develop a tailor-made hydraulic system for our battery, including pumps, valves, sensors, and piping. They are responsible for maximizing product value and ensuring that the product goal is achieved (“doing the right thing”). In this role, you act as the central interface between stakeholders and the team to enable effective, transparent, and goal-oriented product development.

Your Tasks

• Develop and communicate a clear product goal aligned with the company’s strategic objectives
• Create, prioritize, and continuously maintain the product backlog
• Ensure transparency, visibility, and understanding of the backlog for all stakeholders
• Make fact- and data-based decisions and set clear priorities to maximize value creation
• Provide transparency to the company, team, and stakeholders while clearly presenting technical progress and challenges
• Define focus and direction for the team, lead by example, and promote efficient collaboration

Your Profile

• Completed degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, process engineering, or a comparable technical field
• Professional experience desirable, ideally with project experience
• Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics is an advantage
• Practical and solution-oriented approach to complex problems
• Knowledge of agile project management (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is a plus
• High level of commitment, reliability, and teamwork, as well as a good balance of creativity, flexibility, structured work style, and organizational skills
