Job Description
The AbbVie Process Chemistry is seeking a Scientist I, to specialize in antibody drug conjugate (ADC) chemistry.
The Process Chemistry department within Synthetic Molecules CMC R&D is responsible for the synthetic chemistry technology required for preparation of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for use in preclinical and early clinical studies.
Experience with both antibody drug conjugate chemistry and small molecule synthetic organic chemistry are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently design and conduct critical experiments and generate reliable and consistent results that further project goals.
- Consistently apply the appropriate process analytical technologies (PAT) to efficiently produce high-quality data.
- Interpret results, draw conclusions, and propose or pursue relevant follow-up experiments.
- Understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to solving problems in a timely manner.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards for code of conduct, safety, material handling, and GxP compliance.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s (+5 years of experience) or master’s degree (+2 years of experience) in chemistry.
- Experience with small molecule pharmaceutical process development, in a GMP environment.
- Experience with antibody drug conjugate pharmaceutical process development, in a GMP environment.
