Location: Brookings, OR

Compensation: DOE

Job Type: Full-Time, typically Monday-Friday

South Coast Lumber Company is looking for a dependable and experienced Truck Shop Manager to oversee our fleet maintenance operations. In this role, you’ll ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our trucks, trailers, forklifts, and heavy equipment while guiding a skilled team of mechanics.

Key Responsibilities, Skills, & Qualifications:

• Assign, schedule, monitor, and verify work performed by internal mechanics and third-party service providers.
• Manage and maintain the company’s fleet maintenance software system, including setup, data entry, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Operations Manager.
• Hands-on background in vehicle maintenance.
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA safety regulations.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency with maintenance or fleet management software.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fleet maintenance planning/scheduling experience.
• 5+ years in maintenance planning with supervisory or lead responsibility.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis.
• Ability to forecast parts requirements and manage inventory.
• Proven ability to manage vendor and contractor relationships.
