Intern for Ramboll Management Consulting, Economics
Aarhus, Denmark
Do you want to change the world and move businesses and societies in a sustainable direction – and help build resilient societies equipped to handle future challenges? Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your excellence in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture while being part of our journey to create a globally leading consultancy within sustainability and strategy?
Bring your interest in strategy, sustainability, M&A, transformations, and business development into play as you help deliver integrated and sustainable solutions as a management consulting intern. In this position, you will gain insights into a global consultancy while obtaining solid knowledge of what it takes to be a management consultant.
We are passionate about the green transition, circular economy, sustainable finance, social sustainability, and building resilient societies that can adapt and thrive amid uncertainty. We specialise in business and sustainability consulting within various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, waste, and water, and we advise private companies and the public sector. In doing so, we provide sustainability strategies, financial advisory, and implementation plans as a one-stop shop for our clients. We believe that the true value of our offerings arises from the ability to combine traditional business and strategy consulting with true sustainability expertise within the same team to provide one coherent solution addressing both issues at once.
If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join the Economics department as our new Intern and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.
Your New Role
As an intern in Economics, you will be involved in several projects, becoming an integral part of different project teams - often in collaboration with Ramboll Management Consulting’s other departments. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Conducting econometric and statistical analyses
- Building Excel models and interactive dashboards
- Processing and cleaning register and/or survey data
- Carrying out socioeconomic analyses and assessments of major public projects or policy initiatives (at both local and regional levels)
- Supporting the planning and execution of data collection
- Presenting and communicating analytical results in various formats (e.g., reports, briefing materials, and presentations)
Your New Team
Economics is part of Ramboll Management Consulting. We focus on socioeconomic, statistical, and econometric analyses that deliver the insights needed to guide sustainable decisions and investments for both private companies and public authorities. We specialise in:
- Socioeconomic analyses and impact assessments
- Statistical and econometric modelling
- Valuation of non-monetary or complex assets
- Ex-ante assessments, cost-benefit analyses, scenario modelling, forecasting, and business cases
- Ex-post evaluations of policies, initiatives, or investments
As a management consulting intern, you’ll be part of a dynamic team working across a wide range of disciplines, including strategy, sustainability, M&A, public policy, organisational transformation, and business development. You’ll contribute to projects that involve data collection, stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, and implementation planning, gaining hands-on experience with the tools and approaches that define modern consulting.
We welcome students from diverse academic backgrounds such as economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, public administration, environmental studies, law and business. Whether your passion lies in social sustainability, green transition, circular economy, labour market dynamics, health systems, or climate adaptation, there’s a place for your perspective here.
Our work spans sectors like energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, waste, and water. We advise municipalities, ministries, NGOs, and private companies, delivering integrated solutions that combine deep sustainability expertise with strategic insight. From policy evaluations to financial advisory and ESG strategies, we offer our clients a one-stop shop for navigating complexity and driving impact.
About You
From the moment you start at Ramboll Management Consulting, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role, we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.
These Include:
- Currently studying or about to begin your graduate studies or relevant higher education, typically within business, economics, sustainability, or engineering

- A structured approach with strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
- Ability to think strategically, have a high level of abstraction, and the ability to put yourself in the client’s shoes
- Ability to work independently, but at the same time be a team player
- Experience in using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel and preferably statistical software programs (e.g. Stata, SAS, R or Python)
