Who are we hiring?
The Senior Analyst Finance, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis serves as the strategic and financial partner to the corporate divisions of the company supporting MSG Entertainment, MSG Sports and MSG Sphere. This position will play a key role in assisting in our budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning and providing management with key analytical support. The Senior Financial Analyst will support Corporate Finance with the day-to-day operations of the department.
What will you do?
- Assist team in planning, executing, compiling, and analyzing the company's periodic results, monthly forecasts, annual budget, and long-term plans
- Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate monthly financial results. Assist with monthly accruals and investigate variances versus plan
- Provide detailed monthly financial results including headcount and labor analysis, expense tracking, departmental reporting packages and key financial support schedules
- Research and gather financial data and information requests and provide analysis in support of responsibilities of the Financial Planning Group, including capital expenditures and ad hoc projects/modeling
- Collaborate with Finance, Data & Analytics and Financial Systems to assist with process efficiencies (e.g. automate reports, management dashboards, etc.)
- Utilize financial planning software as necessary to support information requests
What do you need to succeed?
- Minimum of 3+ years financial reporting/planning experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance/Accounting or related field
- Strong communication and analytical skills required to work independently to meet tight deadlines
- Financial planning and analysis skills with knowledge related to income statements and capital expenditures
- Ability to perform detailed comparative financial analysis and present summary findings in a logical, concise manner.
- Strong technical skills with financial software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle General Ledger and Oracle EPBCS/Smartview
