Overview: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accounting activities and timely and accurate reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building processes from the ground up, has strong technical accounting skills, and is comfortable navigating complex areas of the balance sheet. You’ll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to establish scalable accounting practices that support both our healthcare services and software development operations.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex balance sheet reconciliation and analytics including:
    • Software capitalization and amortization
    • Goodwill and other intangibles
    • Deferred revenue and revenue recognition
    • Lease accounting (ASC 842)
    • Accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions;
  • Design and implement accounting processes and controls for a newly formed accounting department;
  • Prepare and review journal entries, with proper supporting documentation, reconciliations, and financial reports;
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Information Technologies, Product, and Operations to ensure accurate financial treatment of software and service-related transactions;
  • Support month-end and year-end close, including audit preparation and compliance;
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement;
  • Serve as a key problem solver and thought partner in building a high-performing finance function;
  • Conduct technical accounting research for non-standard transactions;
  • Assist with the evaluation of new accounting standards including implementation of accounting standards updates;
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and maintain compliance with a system of internal controls;
  • Prepare financial audit materials, and coordinate with the external auditor’s staff;
  • Complete special projects as necessary, and other ad hoc duties as required.
  • Maintain compliance with CCS policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within CCS’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position;
  • Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function;

Job Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in a healthcare setting (Software, SaaS, 3rd party services, Home Health, or a Healthcare Portfolio).
  • CPA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, especially in areas related to software development costs, revenue recognition, leases, fixed assets and Goodwill Impairments.
  • Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite, advanced Excel skills or other strong system capacities.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal structure.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to multi-task.
  • Professional proactive team player that can work with discretion across multiple departments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Physical Demands And Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

Base Compensation Range$76,800$115,200 USD
