Job Description
As a consultant in data science & analytics you will work on both local and international client engagements on data science topics, including data acquisition and exploration, building relevant models, and presenting results to stakeholders.
Your role will involve developing and deploying advanced ML models, designing scalable AI solutions, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders. You will also contribute to internal AI and ML initiatives hosted on Heka, our internal accelerator for data science and AI projects: https://www.heka.ai/en. As part of our global data science and AI team, you will drive the development of innovative solutions to address complex client challenges.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify, acquire, process, and explore relevant data sources.
- Analyze large amounts of structured and unstructured information to discover trends and patterns.
- Design, build, and deploy robust machine learning models and AI algorithms, including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning models.
- Architect scalable and efficient AI pipelines, integrating with cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.
- Implement MLOps practices to streamline model training, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
- Communicate at scale, through multiple mediums: presentations, dashboards, datasets, bots and more.
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.
- Contribute to a broad range of projects and deliverables, including models, algorithms, datasets, measurements, services, tools, and processes.
- Evangelize data science in the region by contributing to training & upskilling as well as supporting business development initiatives.
- Promote AI and ML adoption in the region by contributing to training, upskilling programs, and business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer Data Scientist, ML Engineer, AI Engineer, or similar role (ideally in consulting)
- At least a bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a relevant area of study (Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics or a related field of study) from a top university
- Strong proficiency in Python and at least one additional analytical language (e.g., R, SQL, Scala).
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and AI development tools (e.g. Ollama, vLLM, Langchain)
- Proven ability to ingest, process, and analyze data, build and deploy ML models, and deliver production-ready outputs (e.g., APIs, dashboards, or applications).
- Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., Kubeflow, MLflow, or similar).
- Problem-solving aptitude and strong business acumen
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- English fluency and proficiency in 1 or more Asian language(s), e.g., Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean
- Strong plus: Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Looker)
- Strong plus: Hands-on experience and certifications with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba cloud)
- Strong plus: Hands-on experience with GenAI tools and infrastructure
