About The Role:

John Holland’s Infrastructure division is currently constructing some of Australia’s most complex projects, including the Black Hill to Tomago M1, Belmont Desalination Plant Project, and Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre. Due to industry expansion, the John Holland Infrastructure business is currently seeking a Civil Supervisor for an upcoming project in the Hunter NSW region. You will be responsible for managing all the earthworks, inground services, FRP and pavement works.

Responsibilities Of The Role Include:

Our Supervisor’s play a key role in managing on-site teams to execute specific scopes of work in alignment with project plans and specifications. Their focus is on ensuring efficient performance by adhering to detailed short-term programs and schedules, while also implementing robust safety, quality, and environmental controls on-site.

• Oversee and manage the construction process, including coordinating and directing workers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Enforce safety regulations and building codes, and conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards or violations
• Manage and resolve conflicts between parties involved in the project
• Maintain accurate records of progress, costs, and quality control measures
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project expectations are met Identify and address any issues or problems that arise during the construction process
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and permits
• Manage the allocation of resources, including labour, materials, and equipment
• Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedure

To Be Successful In This Key Role, You Must Have:

• Experience delivering infrastructure projects in Australia
• Experience working for a tier one contractor is advantageous
• Demonstrated experience as a Supervisor, managing multiple subcontractors and direct employees
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
• Able to work and integrate into a team
• Strong focus on health and safety
