About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and ship core product features that deliver measurable reliability and speed in clinical workflows. You will work across services, data, and UI to improve high-churn paths, reduce latency, and introduce automation — while modeling strong engineering rituals. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to ship quickly, improve stability, and take ownership of end-to-end product experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship new features across Python/TypeScript services, APIs, and UI.
- Improve stability in high-churn pipelines (transcription, JSON note generation, EHR writebacks).
- Reduce latency and regressions in clinical workloads through profiling, caching, and schema improvements.
- Contribute to team-wide engineering rituals: observability, CI/CD, weekly “plan → ship → measure.”
- Debug production issues and ensure fast recovery through tracing, alerts, and error budgets.
- Hands-on experience shipping production services with CI/CD and reliability practices.
- Strong Python and TypeScript skills; comfortable building across stack layers.
- Demonstrated track record of reducing latency, error rates, or lead time for changes.
Hard Requirements
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.
- Experience with healthcare integrations (FHIR, HL7, EHR systems).
- Familiarity with observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, metrics pipelines).
- Background in performance optimization at scale.
- Ship at least one user-facing improvement across core services or UI.
- Implement tracing/alerts to stabilize a flaky pipeline and reduce failure rates.
- Adopt weekly “plan → ship → measure” cadence and track lead time for changes.
- Success OKRs (90 Days)
Nice-To-Have
First-Month Focus
- Reduce error rates in a core pipeline by 30–50%.
- Deliver measurable latency improvements (≥30%) in a high-volume workflow.
- Consistently ship features on a weekly cadence with visible post-deploy metrics.
Culture Fit
- Persistent, driven problem solver
- Willing to push back on leadership to defend quality/timelines
- Thrives in high-ambiguity, fast-paced startup environments
