Finance Manager
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and reporting for Adelphi in healthcare communications, working in close partnership with the central global team and the country Shared Service Centre. The position ensures preparation and accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet reports, drives working capital management, and guarantees timely and compliant financial reporting. The Finance Manager will lead a high-performing finance team, support commercial management of clients, and play a pivotal role in group reporting and agency integration initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and reporting of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.
- Partner with the Adelphi central global team and the Shared Service Centre to ensure all financial processes are aligned and optimised.
- Drive agency Working Capital Management, ensuring timely and accurate client invoicing in accordance with contractual terms.
- Develop and implement accurate financial forecasting processes, ensuring that monthly, quarterly, and annual reports are delivered on time.
- Take ownership of financial and commercial management of client accounts, working closely with client service teams to optimise profitability.
- Manage the Group Reporting Timetable as set by Omnicom, ensuring timely and complete business inputs.
- Support the successful financial integration of two agencies through process review, framework harmonisation, and change management.
- Provide input into all internal and external audits, ensuring all financial practices are compliant and transparent.
- Lead, manage, and develop a diverse team of five finance professionals, fostering a high-performance, commercially-focused culture.
- Build strong working relationships across the agency to drive understanding and adherence to financial processes.
Required Competences
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to organise, prioritise, and deliver work to deadline under pressure.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing diverse teams and working collaboratively across functions.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
- Commercial acumen with a focus on delivering value to clients and the business.
- Advanced Excel skills, with experience in Power Query and Power BI; ability to develop tools and dashboards to drive insights.
- Familiarity with accounting systems (Dynamics AX preferred, but not essential).

Reporting Line
- Reports to: Finance Director / Group Financial Controller (as appropriate)
- Minimum Education & Training Requirements (Or Equivalent Experience)
- Should capture minimum/mandatory gradational levels/education and training required to perform the job successfully.
Education & Training
- Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Continued professional development in financial management, analysis, and reporting.
Experience & Background
- Demonstrable experience in a finance management role, ideally within the Medical Communications or related industry.
- Proven background in client commercial management.
- Experience in management accounts, group reporting, and working to tight reporting timetables.
- Track record of developing and leading finance teams.
- Experience supporting business integrations and change management initiatives.
- Previous involvement in audit processes (internal and external).
