The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced and mission-driven District Director of Operations to lead our Eastern Massachusetts urgent care region. In this role, you will partner in a dyad leadership model with the District Medical Director to align operational and clinical priorities across multiple urgent care clinics. Overseeing our 9 (and growing!) urgent care clinics in Eastern MA, you will directly manage Practice Managers, guide high-performing teams, and advance ConvenientMD’s mission of making urgent care and good health more convenient for all. Reporting to the VP of Operations and working closely with our CEO, former President of Urgent Care, and other senior business leaders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, driving operational excellence, stewarding culture, and ensuring exceptional talent is in place to deliver on our mission.
Your Impact
- Regional Leadership & Team Development
- Directly manage and mentor Urgent Care Practice Managers across your district, fostering strong leadership, accountability, and career growth
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and other internal stakeholders to proactively recruit, hire, and retain top-quality providers and practice managers for all urgent care clinics within your district
- Build and maintain a high-performance culture that aligns with ConvenientMD’s mission, vision, and values
- Facilitate crucial conversations and guide managers through performance management, progressive counseling, and disciplinary processes
- Strategic Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Play a critical role in shaping the district’s workforce by partnering with Talent Acquisition, operations, and clinical leadership to identify staffing needs, attract exceptional talent, and develop retention strategies that support clinic growth, patient care excellence, and operational success.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate closely with the District Medical Director to ensure operations and clinical goals are fully aligned
- Review clinic workflows to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, throughput, quality, and patient experience
- Implement process improvements that strengthen consistency, transparency, and sustainable outcomes across multiple sites
- Lead operational planning and execution for new clinic openings within your district
- Data & Performance Management
- Leverage PowerBI, Excel, and other reporting tools to analyze trends, ensure data accuracy, and drive performance improvement
- Produce weekly reports on district performance, providing insights, recommended actions, and updates on outcomes
- Monitor and manage KPIs, OKRs, and operational benchmarks to ensure success across patient care, financial, and quality measures
- Direct ownership of the district P&L, including budget development, expense management, revenue optimization, and financial forecasting to ensure operational efficiency and profitability while maintaining high-quality patient care
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with HR, Finance, Compliance, and Clinical Leadership to align district priorities with organizational strategy
- Serve as a connector between operations, medical staff, and corporate support teams to foster seamless execution
- Advance strategic initiatives by translating enterprise goals into measurable district-level actions
- Accountability & Oversight
- Oversee compliance with HR policies, operational standards, and regulatory requirements
- Manage escalations, resolve issues, and ensure effective resource allocation across sites
- Provide on-call support during weekends as part of leadership rotation
- Travel regularly across the district to remain connected, visible, and engaged with teams

Who You Are
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of progressive leadership in multi-site operations, with healthcare strongly preferred
- 7–10 years of operational experience with demonstrated success in scaling teams and improving performance outcomes
- Prior experience managing budgets, staffing models, and site-level P&L responsibility preferred
- Skills & Competencies
- Proven ability to build trust, foster culture, and lead with fairness, compassion, and accountability
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience navigating crucial conversations and aligning diverse stakeholders
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI, Excel, and Teams

- Experience opening new clinics, facilities, or multi-site operations in healthcare
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodology
- Background in value-based care, urgent care, or integrated healthcare delivery
- Experience building scalable leadership development programs or succession planning
