Senior Systems Administrator (4718)

SMX is looking for a highly motivated Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) in Patuxent River, MD. The senior administrator will work as part of and lead our team in managing Research, Development, Test & Evaluation environment's IT systems and networks, and RMF ATO packages.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for understanding technical IT systems and creating efficiencies, redundancies, and ensuring IT capabilities remain fully aligned with the customer mission priorities while adhering to process, policy and best practices.
• Work with the customer to standardize processes, improving forecasts for IT requirements and consolidation and reduction of administrative burdens across departments.
• Assist and/or lead the department in digital modernization priorities including adoption of command IT initiatives including cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital engineering, and more.
• Manage inter-command agreements for IT services.
• Supervise IT support resources supporting the customer environment.

Required Skills/Experience

• Clearance Required: Top Secret
• Deep understanding of NMCI, RDT&E, Developer Seat environments, and Navy IT infrastructure.
• Experience with network administration and supervisory oversight of technical staff.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements (RMF, NIST, etc.).
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional IT teams.
• Strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with SES, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
• Change management and ability to implement enterprise-level process improvements.
• CompTIA Security+.

Desired Skills/Experience

• CompTIA Network+
• Strong desire for higher certifications and/or experience in related IT fields (ex. CISSP, PMP, CASP)

The proposed salary for this position is:$105,100—$175,000 USD
