Our office, Lakes Region Dental Implant & Oral Surgery Center - Gilford, is seeking a talented Lead Surgical Assistant to join our busy specialty practice. This is a leadership role that combines advanced surgical assisting with team coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
We are looking for someone who is skilled in surgical procedures, confident in guiding a team, and passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Your Responsibilities
As a Lead Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in both clinical and operational success. You will support the surgeon during procedures, oversee daily clinical operations, and mentor the surgical assisting team to maintain high standards of care. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare surgical suites, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
- Assist the surgeon chairside, anticipating needs throughout each procedure.
- Monitor and record patient vitals; ensure patient comfort and safety before, during, and after surgery.
- Provide pre- and post-operative instructions and support to patients and families.
- Sterilize and maintain instruments and surgical equipment, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA and infection-control standards.
- Manage supply orders, inventory levels, and vendor coordination to keep operations running smoothly.
- Lead and train surgical assistants, setting expectations for patient care, safety, and productivity.
- Coordinate schedules and workflows to maintain efficiency in the surgical team.
- Support administrative or scheduling needs when necessary to optimize patient flow.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
Your Background
You are an experienced surgical assistant who thrives in a leadership role, balancing hands-on patient care with the responsibility of guiding a team. You are dependable, compassionate, detail-oriented, and driven to maintain excellence in every surgical procedure.
You Bring The Following:
- At least 6 years of surgical assisting experience (specialty dental or oral surgery preferred).
- Previous leadership or mentorship experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization, and safety protocols.
- Understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to monitor vitals and support sedation procedures where permitted.
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing inventory and supplies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma required; certification from an accredited dental or surgical assisting program preferred.
- Active state radiology license (if required by law).

Position Base Pay Range$24—$35 USDSpecialty1 Partners is the direct employer of non-clinical employees only.
