A Sr. Business Process Analyst position is available with the City of Fort Worth’s FWLab Budget Division. The FWLab advances the City’s Vision to be the most livable and best managed city in the country” by building organizational capacity to explore, analyze and learn from data that is deliverable via existing and new municipal system and components.
The Sr. Business Process Analyst will support the budget division by leading the personnel budget preparation for the annual budget process. This position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the Personnel Module in Questica Budget, which is the city’s enterprise budgeting software.
The Sr. Business Process Analyst will frequently interact with top management; have a significant impact on city finance; gain deep insight into municipal operations, decision-making, budgeting, financial analysis, and data analysis; and have a meaningful impact on life in the City of Fort Worth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
- Five (5) or more years of business experience and business analysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting system databases and software applications.
- Ability to develop and implement training for end users.
- Report writing and dashboard development skills; experience building queries in SQL.
- Ability to work independently with demonstrated accomplishments in successful task management and execution; excellent communication at senior levels.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Questica Budget a plus.
The Sr. Business Process Analyst’s job responsibilities include:
- Planning, tracking and overseeing business requirements for one or more components of the city’s budget software.
- Managing the Personnel Module of Questica Budget, which is used to calculate salary and benefit costs for each authorized position in the city.
- Collaborating with Human Resources, Police and Fire departments to budget for negotiated labor costs.
- Serving as a liaison with all departments on questions related to personnel budgets.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement to processes and user experience.
- Providing personnel cost data and reports to inform budget targets for the upcoming year.
- Writing queries in SQL and/or reports using MS Report Builder.
- Preparing and delivering training related to assigned Questica module to the FWLab’s budget team as well as fiscal coordinators in city departments.
- Participating in special projects, including research of best practices in municipal budgeting and collaborative problem solving with the budget team and department stakeholders.
