What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a motivated, remote-based SRE/DevOps Engineer located in Australia to help run, improve, and scale our global AWS production infrastructure, including overseeing production deployments worldwide. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining production systems, as well as establishing effective monitoring, alerting, trending, and dashboarding practices. You will act as the first responder to alerts, drive impactful projects, and ensure our infrastructure remains both cost-efficient and high-performing. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Product Developers, Product Owners, and Customer Success teams across North America, EMEA, and APJ to support a reliable and resilient production environment.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, ArgoCD, Jenkins,
  • AWS Services: EC2, S3, EKS/Kubernetes, MSK/Kafka, DynamoDB, VPC
  • Languages: Python, Java, JS, SQL, Golang, Bash
  • AI Tools: Glean, Github Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, etc

Your Day To Day

  • Troubleshooting issues with regional customers teaming with Customer Success Enhance and extend production infrastructure performance and scalability.
  • Identify relevant business metrics and implement real-time monitoring, alerting, trending and dashboarding.
  • Identify high ROI problems for remediation and cost savings/margin improvement.
  • Analyze tech debt issues and help leadership prioritize resourcing for certain high-value fixes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and actively contribute to incident resolution and post-mortem analysis (this incluldes one weekend day per 4 weeks, with rotating on-call with the rest of the team).

What You Bring To Tealium

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer with a strong focus on AWS cloud technologies.
  • You are experienced with sophisticated AWS services and systems running at scale (tens of billions of events per day across several production regions and hundreds of petabytes of data).
  • You are experienced with scripting, CICD and infrastructure as code tools (Python, Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Jira/Confluence).
  • You are experienced with modern observability, logging, monitoring, alerting, trending and dashboarding methods and tools (DataDog, SumoLogic, Jira Service Management, Cloudwatch, Prometheus).
  • You have strong time management, organizational, oral and verbal skills required.
  • You are able to articulate technical challenges and proposed solutions in a succinct, clear manner for all organizational levels.
  • You are able to collaborate with US and EMEA counterparts on incidents, changes and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Cloudformation to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) Jenkins pipelines for infrastructure changes.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify issues.
  • Perform capacity planning and scaling activities to ensure components meet performance standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies and best practices for SRE.
  • Leverage AI to enhance velocity and productivity.
  • Engage in on-call rotations, contributing to incident resolution and post-mortem analysis. 
  • Demonstrate ownership by driving solutions and working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a lifelong learner, strong attention to detail and aptitude for data driven questioning and results.

Wage Transparency

In several countries worldwide, including regions within the EMEA and APJ, employers are required or strongly encouraged to include salary ranges in job postings. While requirements vary by location, transparency is a core value at Tealium. We’re committed to providing clear and consistent compensation information to all applicants, regardless of location.

This full-time position offers a base salary range of $115,000–$130,000 AUD annually. The final offer is determined by job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. The role may also be eligible for a performance-based bonus and equity options.
