Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as the Senior Manager Power Governance, reporting to the Executive Manager – Power Strategy and Resilience.

A bit about your role

Without power, the nbn network simply doesn’t work. Every connection, every community, every customer depends on the resilience and reliability of the power systems that underpin the network.

As the Senior Manager, Power Governance, you’ll lead the charge in bringing people together to enable strategy, orchestrate the moving parts, and ensure agile governance is firmly in play.

This is the kind of role that drives impact at scale. You’ll enhance governance, ensure commercial discipline, and—through energy and purpose—generate strong stakeholder engagement across the nbn power ecosystem. You’ll facilitate existing key forums and design and develop some new ones, constantly adapting to the needs of your customers (Stakeholders).

You’ll guide strategic prioritisation and decision-making, and most importantly, you’ll be a master at building collaboration across different parts of nbn so we work as one and move at speed.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams to uplift operational maturity, spark innovation, and deliver performance insights and financial reporting aligned with nbn’s s goals. And you’ll do it all while championing nbn’s core mindsets: working as one, simplifying processes, focusing on impact, embracing innovation, and leading with humility.

This is a role for someone who wants to make a difference—not just in technology, but in the lives of Australians who rely on it every day. If you believe power is more than infrastructure—it’s the heartbeat of connectivity—then this is your moment.

A bit about you

We’re looking for someone who sees power not just as infrastructure—but as possibility.

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring experience from the power sector or a similar industry, and have a natural ability to guide, influence, and uplift others in complex environments. You’re someone who doesn’t just lead change—you spark it.

You’ve operated at the executive level, know how to build trust with stakeholders, and have a knack for turning strategy into action. People look to you for clarity, direction, and inspiration.

You champion innovation and know how to bring cross-functional teams together to solve tough problems. You’re comfortable with complexity and use modern tools and approaches to drive transformation—always with a clear vision and purpose.

Your commercial insight helps shape smart decisions and unlock operational improvements across the telecommunications landscape. And in everything you do, you bring exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and personal organisation that sets the tone for others to follow.
