The Product Management Director is responsible for supporting life product development, creative product ideas, building close relationships with distribution partners, and supporting technical analysis of products, as well as working closely with Market Solutions, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Underwriting and IT to build and support US life products.

This is a Hybrid opportunity in our Boston Office where you will come into the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and can work from home on Monday and Friday.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: support cross-functional core teams in product development initiatives, ensuring that projects are implemented according to plan and that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively. Primary product development responsibilities will be for M products and LifeCare.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain a strong relationship with the M Product and Pricing teams and work closely with those teams to develop new products for M firms.
  • Admin Support: Represent Product Management on implementation efforts for Day 2 admin work and other special projects; write business requirements and specs and ensure projects are delivered as intended.
  • Distribution Support: Assist Distribution with technical questions relating to John Hancock’s M Products and LifeCare; assist on competitive cases to ensure John Hancock’s products are presented in the best possible manner; present to distributors on John Hancock’s products as requested.
  • Idea Generation & Execution: Develop new ideas for life product development projects, admin enhancements, and product marketing stories, and bring these ideas to market.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in the industry
  • Knowledge of the Life Insurance marketplace
  • Technical understanding of life insurance products
  • Very strong presentation skills with the ability to present to a large audience
  • Ability to occasionally travel to represent the Product Development team at distribution meetings and events
  • Experience with administrative systems a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to break down technical information and present to a senior management audience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with both technical and non-technical audiences and customers.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and synthesize the essential information for both senior management and distribution stakeholders.
  • Track record of thriving under tight deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to translate ideas into clearly defined and executable business requirements
  • Strategic thinker

Salary range is expected to be between

$120,750.00 USD - $217,350.00 USD
