Job Description
Position Summary
The Business Reporting Analyst plays a critical role in transforming complex operational data into accurate, insightful, and actionable business intelligence. This role supports both internal stakeholders (Customer Service, Workforce Management, Sales) and external clients by designing and maintaining recurring and ad-hoc reports that reflect SLA compliance, call detail metrics, and other key performance indicators.
The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas and macros/VBA) and SQL, along with experience building clear and effective data visualizations in Excel or other platforms. They should be comfortable working directly with database views and combining data from multiple sources such as Salesforce, Kibana, and SSRS. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage large and diverse datasets, and the discipline to deliver high-quality outputs under strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deliver recurring (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and ad-hoc reports related to SLA compliance, call detail metrics, and operational KPIs.
- Extract, clean, and consolidate data from multiple internal and external systems, including SQL database views, Salesforce, SSRS, and Kibana.
- Create and maintain Excel-based reporting tools using macros, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
- Develop clear, structured visualizations and summaries within Excel, SSRS, or native reporting platforms to support internal business decisions and external client reporting.
- Perform detailed analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies across large datasets.
- Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, and Workforce Management teams to tailor reports to audience needs.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all reporting deliverables, particularly under tight deadlines.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences through concise written and visual formats.
- Document data logic, data sources, and usage guidelines to support consistency and operational continuity.
- Contribute to the Quality Management System by continuously improving reporting accuracy, processes, and reliability.
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Economics, or similar.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA/macros, formulas, charts, and pivot tables.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming structured data from database views.
- Experience working with large datasets from multiple systems, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially in data validation and report quality control.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in translating data insights to non-technical users.
Desirable
- Experience working with SLA metrics, call center data, or other operational performance indicators.
- Familiarity with Salesforce reporting, SSRS, and Kibana dashboards.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake).
- Knowledge of predictive modeling or statistical analysis using tools like Python or R.
- Understanding of data governance, report security, and compliance standards in enterprise environments.
- Experience maintaining or troubleshooting legacy data systems such as Oracle or Access.
