Logistics Operations Manager EMEA (m/f/*)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Logistics Operations Manager EMEA for the Global Logistics Team based in Langenthal, Switzerland, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leadership and Strategy - Lead and oversee Control Tower Operations for EMEA, focusing on efficient import/export management, strategic network optimization for cost reduction, efficiency, and reliability, collaboration with global and EMEA logistics teams for seamless operations, and alignment of air/ocean strategies with ESC and corporate targets.
  • Operational Management - Manage air and ocean shipping activities to ensure optimal material flows in and out of EMEA, monitor and evaluate carrier and freight forwarder performance focusing on cost, delivery, quality, safety, speed, and reliability, and identify and resolve operational issues with corrective actions to enhance service levels and efficiency.
  • Performance and Relationship Management - Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, conduct regular performance reviews with carriers and freight forwarders in EMEA to align on service agreements, and develop and track KPIs to measure and enhance the import/export network's performance.
  • Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the control tower operations. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies in EMEA to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the market

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

  • Proven experience in logistics operations management, preferably managing multiple countries within the EMEA region
  • Bachelor's degree or higher ot equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of leading projects within the logistics industry
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in developing and tracking KPIs.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Fluent English language both written and verbal

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Possession of a Six Sigma qualification or equivalent project management certification.
  • Expertise in data analytics.

  • Location Information - EMEA role to be located in Langenthal, Switzerland
  • Work location: This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days per week at the 3M office in Langenthal
  • Travel expectations (if applicable) May include up to [xxx%] [domestic/international]
