Job Description Summary
Supplier Engineering (SE) works across Resmed and our suppliers to continuously improve performance, implement process controls and develop quality assurance plans. We ensure our supply chain network consistently delivers high-quality components that meet Resmed’s specifications, volume demands, and delivery timelines.
As a Senior Supplier Engineer (Electronics & Test), you will play a key role in ensuring our suppliers—especially those involved in PCBA and system-level testing—deliver quality, scalable, and compliant solutions. You will lead technical assessments, validations, and continuous improvement initiatives, enabling Resmed to maintain high-quality standards across its global supply network.
Let'S Talk About Responsibilities
- Develop streamlined processes, tools, and templates to accelerate supplier test system approvals.
- Approve suppliers’ test validation packages, ensuring compliance to Resmed requirements, test specifications (e.g., coverage analysis, pass/fail logic, validation data), test method validation requirements, and traceability expectations.
- Supplier audits and assessments with a focus on test systems and compliance.
- Manage external test consultants and support system-level functional testing (e.g., Finished Goods testing at EMS partners).
- Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing Test teams to implement scalable, end-to-end test solutions.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve technical, manufacturing, and quality issues with suppliers relating to test systems.
- Translate design and quality requirements into practical procedures for inspection, evaluation, and testing.
- Drive supplier process validations (e.g., CN or SRFC) and change control initiatives.
- Mentor and develop junior Supplier Engineers and Graduates.
- Support suppliers in applying lean and quality tools (SPC, Six Sigma, PFMEA, etc.) to improve product quality and delivery.
- Identify and lead cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives across products and processes.
- Plan and implement supplier capability development aligned with ResMed’s technology and business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing and test systems (ICT, FCT, assembly-level testing).
- Proven track record in supplier development, quality, and test system evaluation.
Let'S Talk About Qualifications And Experience
- Hands-on experience with statistical tools (SPC, Gage R&R, Minitab or JMP) and electronic design tools (e.g., Altium).
- Experience bringing new products/processes into production and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, tailored to both technical and commercial audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international).
- Experience in Continuous Improvements with understanding of Cost of Quality
Influencing Skills.
Preferred
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing and test automation environments.
- Experience in regulated industries (preferably medical devices).
- Formal training or certification in Six Sigma, Lean, Kepner-Tregoe, or APQP.
- Exposure to project management principles and supplier consulting / third party.
