Public Affairs Manager & Product Specialist

Main duties and responsibilities

• PA related
• Handle relationship with government officials of working-level, industry groups staff, secretaries of Diet members and other stakeholders relating to tax-free business, so that Senior Manager can more focus on the sensitive communication and coordination with the important stakeholders
• Work as another contact person with PA agencies for more efficient communication and execution of strategy
• Support the communication with PR agency following the strategic direction of Senior Manager in full collaboration with CVC team
• Monitor the government agencies’ internal discussion by having more frequent communication with the working-level people of the government agencies.
• Respond to the request from the government agencies for data, overseas countries practices of TFS so that we can monitor the discussion inside the government
• Attend the periodical meetings such as Diet members’ parties, industry groups annual meetings, especially for the ones which GB’s clients attend and our competitors also attend
• Respond to internal inquiry on the TFS-related regulation that requires confirmation with the government officials

• Product Related
• Support Senior Manager’s discussion with the airport refund manager such as amendment of the internal/external meeting materials, localization of the kiosks/counter operation into Japan, checking if the airport refund manager’s action is aligned with Country Manager, central team’s strategic intention.
• Support the Senior Manager with understanding the status of FTL process and making constructive comments to the legal team from Product perspective
• Support the Senior Manager with project management of CT on GC, joining the discussion with tax experts and giving appropriate request to the external advisors following the direction strategically decided from Product perspective. Continue to internally involve with the project of reflecting the defined tax treatment to the product definition.
• Share the knowledge of GB central’s products with the working-level persons of the Japanese colleagues (mainly sales teams) so that they can effectively and correctly communicate with the client merchants
• Support Senior Manager with drafting the product requirement for new solution that needs to be prepared for the validation model (especially serial number capture, refund solution, etc.).
• Support Senior Manager’s discussion with the airport refund manager such as amendment of the internal/external meeting materials, localization of the kiosks/counter operation into Japan, checking if the airport refund manager’s action is aligned with Country Manager, central team’s strategic intention.

Background And Education

• Bachelor’s Degree

Specific skills and knowledge

• Experience of working with government officials/PA-related industry for more than 5 years
• Capability to read the law and related regulations in Japanese and to judge what is beneficial for our business
• Bilingual of Japanese and English
