The Impact You Will Have

Walker & Dunlop seeks an Associate Director to assist production efforts supporting the Senior Director in various locations across the country.  The Associate Director will primarily assist in sizing and underwriting loans and gathering/organizing due diligence for loans related to multifamily agency transactions. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Input and model multifamily data for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan sizers.
  • Present clients with due diligence checklist and related forms.
  • Assist in organizing all marketing efforts, including writing press releases, create deal ‘tombstones’ and coordinating with W&D marketing for client events.
  • Assist production team in tracking and updating pipeline reports.
  • Input notes in Salesforce.
  • Keep up and track all quotes, which would be presented to clients in a debt matrix.
  • Assist production team in creating well-presented Agency and capital markets submission packages.
  • Mine data from underwriting packages to find potential equity sources.
  • Monitor maturing deals and reach out to clients proactively with upcoming maturities.
  • Assist production team in tracking deals during underwriting and providing weekly status reports to clients.
  • Participate in weekly Production Meetings.
  • Complete Lost Deal information in Salesforce.
  • Participate in Kick-Off meetings with producer, underwriter and closer for all loans under application.
  • Serve as a liaison between production, underwriting, closing, and the GSE’s as deals are processed.
  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, often in combination with travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (prefer finance and/or real estate concentration).
  • 4+ years financial analyst experience with commercial real estate owner, broker, appraiser, or financial institution.  Multifamily agency experience a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Sales Force and SharePoint.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent financial modeling skills including thorough knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and accurate.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work productively in time sensitive situations.
  • Good concept of financial analysis of income producing real estate.
  • Good organization and analytical skills.
  • Exhibit good teamwork and cooperation.
  • General understanding of all major commercial real estate product types.
  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders.

This position has an estimated base salary of $90,000 - $100,000 plus discretionary production incentives. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
