Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. Our in-vitro Diagnostic Assay manufacturing site in Dundee has an exciting opportunity for a Calibration Engineer to join the team.
Main Purpose Of Job
- Manage calibration data in our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and generate reports for audits and KPIs.
- Own the full lifecycle of calibration for site equipment—from implementation to decommissioning.
- Schedule and perform calibration and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with procedures and quality standards.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to resolve calibration issues quickly and effectively.
- Support continuous improvement by reviewing procedures and identifying opportunities for efficiency.
- Act as the subject matter expert for calibration during quality audits.
- Education: Degree in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to interpret technical data and make risk-based decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with calibration processes and CMMS (Maximo experience is a plus).
