Job Description
General Summary:
The Field CRM Business Analyst will serve as a key partner to Vertex’s North America Commercial Pain Business Unit and Field Operations teams across all therapeutic areas/business units. This role is responsible for analyzing and translating business needs into CRM technology solutions, defining system requirements, ensuring quality delivery and alignment with enterprise-wide IT strategies. This role is a key collaborator to enhancing and scaling the Vertex field user experience, operational efficiency, and data integrity for Pain field teams and across the Field CRM platform.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business users and subject matter experts to elicit, analyze, and document Field CRM business requirements
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and technical requirements for system enhancements
- Evaluate use cases for emerging technologies such as AI driven optimization and intelligent automation
- Facilitate prioritization of requirements in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders
- Act as a bridge between business and IT teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements and solutions
- Ensure alignment with platform architecture standards and promote consistency in system design across business units and functions
- Document system process flows and data models to support long-term maintainability
- Support reporting and analytics needs by defining data requirements and collaborating with platform teams
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Facilitate and support user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing acceptance criteria and validating system functionality
- Identify functional defects and ensure solutions meet quality standards
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for implemented solutions
- Assist in the rollout of new systems or enhancements, including training and documentation
- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure ethical handling of IT assets and alignment with Vertex’s technology strategy
Knowledge And Skills:
- Strong understanding of CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce) and commercial field operations.
- Experience with system configuration, testing, and deployment
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders and work cross-functionally
- Experience in building productive partnerships with business stakeholders and aligning around a recommendation/solution
- Excellence in communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and familiarity with data stewardship
- Experience with project management
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Education And Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in IT business analysis, preferably supporting commercial field teams
- Experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical industry preferred
Pay Range:
$100,800 - $151,200Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
