Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The AVP, Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud security solutions to protect the organization's cloud infrastructure and data. This role involves developing security strategies, ensuring compliance with security standards, and mitigating security risks.

The AVP will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical expertise, and ensure the successful deployment and management of cloud security measures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Security Design And Implementation:

  • Develop and implement cloud security architectures and solutions.
  • Ensure cloud security solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Security Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks associated with cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Implement robust security controls and practices to protect cloud environments.
  • Compliance And Standards:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure adherence to security best practices.
  • Collaboration And Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, and business units, to ensure alignment and integration of cloud security practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on cloud security-related matters.
  • Incident Response And Management:

  • Develop and implement incident response plans for cloud security incidents.
  • Lead and coordinate response efforts to mitigate the impact of security incidents.
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud security.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance cloud security solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Adopt and promote engineering excellence through consistent application of industry standards
  • Performance Monitoring And Reporting:

  • Monitor the performance of cloud security measures and controls.
  • Develop and present regular reports on cloud security posture, risks, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in cloud security engineering; OR in lieu of a degree, 7+ years of experience in cloud security engineering
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud security.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, architectures, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, encryption, IAM).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Highly Recommended Aws Certifications:

  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with incident response and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
