Your Role

You will collaborate with our teams to explore how Large Language Models (LLMs) and custom code can be combined to analyze internal datasets. Expect hands-on learning, mentorship, and the chance to contribute to prototypes that support decision-making, innovation, and operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with data owners and AI team.
  • Develop and test AI-powered tools for data exploration.

Background

Modern organizations generate vast amounts of data across departments, systems, and formats—from structured databases to unstructured documents and communications. The real opportunity lies in combining these datasets to uncover deeper, cross-functional insights. Advances in LLMs and open-source AI tooling now make it possible to analyze and interpret complex, multi-source data in ways that were previously impractical.

Project

You will explore a hybrid approach, using pre-trained LLMs (e.g., Llama, Azure OpenAI) alongside custom Python code, to surface new, actionable insights from combined internal datasets.

  • Main Research Questions:

  • What insights can be uncovered by applying LLMs to combined structured and unstructured data?
  • How can custom code enhance or direct LLMs for specific business use cases?
  • What are the technical, ethical, and organizational challenges?
  • How can insights be validated and translated into business value?
  • Methods/Technologies: Data mapping, AI tools, Python, LLM APIs.
  • Flexibility: The project scope can be adapted to your interests and strengths.
  • Background in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related fields
  • Skills in Python, data analysis, and interest in AI/LLMs

Your Profile

  • 1–2 students
  • Meriting: Experience with organizational data, open-source AI tools, or business analytics

This master thesis project will require close collaboration with our team and regular presence at our office in Gothenburg. Therefore, we are looking for students who are students currently studying in Sweden either based in the Gothenburg area or are able to arrange accommodation locally for the duration of the project.
