Recycling Sorter

Position Summary

The Sorter is responsible for safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities are acceptable for sale to various brokers or mills. The Sorter must visually examine and physically sort out targeted grades of material as they come down a moving line and be sure to remove out all "other" materials which would be considered contamination.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities, include the following, other duties may be assigned.

• Sort materials according to company procedures and place in designate bins as they flow down a conveyor belt
• Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
• Ensure proper PPE is utilized
• Maintain a neat and tidy work 
• Other duties as assigned

Education And/Or Experience:

• Training is available
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand throughout the workday
• Knowledge to distinguish between recyclable materials
• Organizational Skills
