The QC Receiving Technician is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies received by the facility meet food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role involves inspection, sampling, and documentation in compliance with company policies, HACCP, USDA/FDA regulations, and customer expectations. The QC Receiving Technician plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of products used in both RTE and NRTE meal production.

  • Inspect all incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies against specifications and purchase orders.
  • Verify supplier documentation (Certificates of Analysis, Letters of Guarantee, allergen declarations, etc.).
  • Conduct organoleptic, physical, and visual inspections of materials for quality, contamination, damage, and compliance.
  • Perform temperature checks, lot verification, and condition inspections of refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods.
  • Collect and prepare samples for laboratory testing (microbiological, chemical, or other as required).
  • Document all receiving inspections in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce segregation and hold procedures for non-conforming or suspect materials.
  • Communicate deviations or quality issues promptly to QA leadership, procurement, and operations.
  • Support traceability by verifying labeling, lot codes, expiration dates, and supplier information.
  • Monitor compliance with allergen control programs and GMPs at receiving docks.
  • Assist with verification of sanitation status of receiving areas, trailers, and equipment.
  • Participate in internal audits and support regulatory/customer inspections as required.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to ensure materials flow in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Other FSQA related task assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Food Science, Biology, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in food quality assurance, QC, or receiving inspections in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, USDA, and FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated/frozen environments and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
