For over 60 years, Animal Welfare League NSW (AWL NSW) has been protecting and caring for surrendered, neglected, and abandoned animals across the state. We’re a registered charity driven by compassion, teamwork, and the belief that every animal deserves a second chance.

The Role

As an Animal Transport Officer, you’ll be on the frontline making a difference every day. From collecting and transporting animals to supporting Inspectors and Vet Clinics, no two days will ever be the same. You’ll provide safe, compassionate transport for animals in need, assist with rescues, and help our team reach communities right across NSW.

This is a hands-on, fast-moving role where you’ll be working with animals, people, and partner agencies — all while knowing your work is saving lives.luding the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Companion Animals Act (1979).

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re:

  • Experienced in animal handling/care (Cert II in Animal Studies or similar desirable)
  • Confident, compassionate, and physically fit (able to lift 20kg+)
  • A problem solver with strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Licensed with a Full NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Tech-savvy enough to keep records up to date (MS Office, email, mobile apps)
