We are looking for a Human Resources Jr Generalist to join our Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) team. They support the people needs of our staff and Partners across our mid-Atlantic offices, including the Baltimore, DC Metro, and Philadelphia areas.
Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- HR Operations & Administration –
- Onboarding & Offboarding –
- Recruitment Support –
- Employee Relations & Engagement –
- Policy & Compliance –
- Generate reports on headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ongoing HRIS updates.
- Proactively communicate employee updates with the appropriate internal stakeholders, including but not limited to benefits, payroll, resource management, and other HRBPs.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and help guide employees to appropriate firm resources during their integration process.
- Manage the employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Partner with corporate IT, talent acquisition, and other internal stakeholders to successfully onboard new hires and maintain new hire compliance.
- Submit new requisitions in the HRIS for the talent acquisition team.
- Partner with the national campus recruiting to support local campus initiatives, including but not limited to attending campus recruiting events, coordinating with local campus volunteers, and supporting the campus talent selection process.
- Conduct HR interviews with prospective experienced hire talent (as needed).
- Assist in resolving minor employee concerns and escalating matters as needed by the HR Director.
- Coordinate with learning and development to align staff with training and other firm resources that support career development and progression.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding firm policies, procedures, and resources.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Support the performance management process.
- Assist in audits and documentation for compliance purposes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal firm policies and local labor laws.
- Maintain the highest confidentiality in all employment and firm matters.
- Support special HR projects (as needed).
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate Must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or relevant field.
- Have 2-4 years of experience with HR (corporate or professional services setting preferred).
- Be knowledgeable of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Have exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Be highly detail oriented and proactive.
- Have a strong sense of urgency and ability to successfully prioritize while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Have a team-centric mindset with the ability to collaborate internally.
- Be familiar with HRIS tools.
- HR certification (preferred).
- Can travel up to 25% across the mid-Atlantic (offices include Bethesda, MD, Owings Mills, MD, McLean, VA, Philadelphia, PA and Voorhees, NJ).
