We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Technical Manager – Energy & Corrosion to lead consulting efforts and support technical project delivery in our expanding energy sector portfolio. Based in Charlotte, NC, this role offers a flexible schedule while playing a key leadership role in advancing AC mitigation design, corrosion engineering, and cathodic protection solutions. The ideal candidate will also mentor junior staff and assist with business development initiatives on a part-time basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead technical consulting on energy and corrosion-related projects, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and client advisement
  • Support business development by contributing to proposal development, pursuit strategies, and client presentations as needed.
  • Provide expert-level technical support in AC mitigation design and implementation for pipeline and energy infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff through technical guidance and knowledge transfer, adapting availability to part-time hours.
  • Assist in enhancing internal standards, quality assurance, and best practices within energy and corrosion disciplines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting, designing, and delivering corrosion and energy infrastructure projects, particularly cathodic protection and AC interference.
  • AMPP Cathodic Protection Specialist certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (NACE, IEEE, API, etc.) and regulatory frameworks relevant to corrosion control and pipeline integrity.
  • Proven leadership in technical or project management roles.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of experience in consulting, designing, and delivering corrosion and energy infrastructure projects, particularly cathodic protection and AC interference.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience with pipeline integrity management programs (IMP) and integrity assessment tools.
  • Prior experience working with utilities, energy developers, or pipeline operators in corrosion and mitigation consulting.
