Manager, UK & Europe Tax

Manager UK & Europe Tax works in the Group Tax team to support the Chief Tax Officer in managing the direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting obligations for the NAB UK and Europe.    

Essential Capabilities

• Strong analytical skills - ability to transform complex financial and non financial data into meaningful business insights.
• Experience in working with accounting and tax systems either in the UK or Europe or in another major financial centre.
• Effective interpersonal skills – growth mindset, highly motivated, strong stakeholder management skills, ability to manage tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.  Ability to work independently with minimal oversight/direction however with the ability to identify and escalate risks as required.
• Understanding of the role & expectations of Finance teams within the banking industry.

Experience:

• Tax technical expertise - Minimum 8 years specialist tax expertise working in a chartered accounting firm or equivalent preferably with a finance background.
• Strong understanding of tax legislative and regulatory requirements, including underlying risk management frameworks.
• Ability to conduct detailed analysis and effectively translate technical tax elements to business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently & take ownership to resolve complex tax issues.
• Ability to manage a local branch tax environment and effectively report issues and outcomes to parent entity tax management
• Ability and desire to embrace emerging current and emerging technologies to drive productivity outcomes.

Required Education:

• Tertiary qualification in a business or
• management discipline with Finance and post graduate qualifications in taxation preferred.
