Summary

Westlake is currently seeking a Logistics Analyst.  The primary function of the Logistics Analyst is coordinating the activities associated with loading and shipping products to customers.  In addition, the Logistics Analyst must possess effective planning, writing, prioritizing and problem-solving skills and also be proficient with SAP and MS Office Suite.  This position participates in a rotating on-call duty for transportation related needs. 

Duties And Responsibilities

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate the necessary activities associated with shipping assigned products to our customers.  Includes all SAP order (delivery) processing requirements for all modes of transportation to generate customer invoices and Certificates of Analysis for products shipped. 
  • Communicate product supply demand requirements to various plant personnel and corporate product planners.
  • Provide corporate customer service representatives with timely customer shipment and product inventory information.
  • Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner.  Report statistical data to customers.
  • Arrange and tender orders to motor carriers as required; address and resolve issues.
  • Manage and verify daily railcar and marine shipments; address and resolve issues.
  • Pay transportation invoices and perform administrative duties regarding the Analyst– Logistic Department role.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or Technology preferred
  • Transportation Logistics experience preferred
  • SAP experience and MS Office Suite proficiency preferred
  • Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
  • A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
