Provides career planning services, including individual and group career consultation for undergraduates and graduates in various stages of the career planning process for STEM students, including health professions/pre-med students.  Manages design and delivery of STEM related career development workshops, seminars, programs and academic classes.  Advises and assists students with the application process for medical and professional schools in the health professions. Typical hiring range for this 11-month work year (August 1 – June 30) position is $40,000 to $50,500 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required: 

  • Master’s degree (in counseling, college student personnel, student development in higher education, higher education administration, or related area).
  • Minimum of one year related experience in an academic setting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must work well as part of team and independently. 
  • Must be skilled in the use of computer technology including Microsoft Office, email, and social media.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of career development.
  • Experience providing career counseling and experience providing career services at the college level.
  • Experience working with STEM students in a university setting.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with various members of the university community.
