The Opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen to join The University of Edinburgh catering department as a Catering Assistant. The role will be based at our newest catering unit; Edinburgh Futures Institute at Edinburgh’s old Royal Infirmary building. This much-loved historic building is being carefully renovated, extended and upgraded to form a major interdisciplinary institute, the largest of its kind in the UK. In preparation for the opening of a new and exciting catering offer, located both within an historical ward and new created spaces, we are now looking to appoint our new food team.

The Edinburgh Futures Institute will house a modern restaurant and a busy food to go outlet featuring seasonal on trend exciting food. 

As a Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for general kitchen cleaning duties as well as operation of dishwasher and pot wash areas. You will work as part of a team in the efficient running of our operation and take instructions from your supervisors on daily work activities.
