Senior Technician (Surface Treatment Design)

About The Role

Cormac are looking for a Senior Technician (Surface Treatment Design) to lead the design, pricing, and implementation of surface treatment projects throughout Cornwall. This involves supporting the management of the entire lifecycle of treatments, including Surface Dressing, Resurfacing, Patching, Retexturing, Micro Asphalt, Preservation, and Joint Treatments. The role also includes overseeing preparatory activities and on-site supervision to ensure all surface treatment programs are delivered efficiently, on budget, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design and execution of the Surface Treatment Programme by helping to determine the optimal levels of labor, equipment, and materials needed to complete the work efficiently and cost-effectively, meeting the agreed schedule and profit goals.
• Provide sufficient design information to facilitate the delivery of the Surface Treatment Programme within the assigned area. Take a leading role in organizing site investigations and technical surveys to support overall design efforts.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant rules, regulations, legislation, and procedures, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety compliance.
• Guarantee that all work complies with current best practices and meets acceptable quality standards.
• Assist in supervising on-site activities to ensure that the project’s design objectives are met.
• Contribute to the development and management of detailed work programs to deliver scheduled tasks within the agreed client timelines and constraints.
• Assisting the Design manager with Daily tasks and providing cover for annual leave/absences.
• To assist with the training & mentoring of graduate technicians/apprentices within the team.

About You

Candidates will need to have;

• Full Driving Licence

• Proven experience in surface treatment design and delivery
• Strong understanding of surfacing techniques and materials
• Good communication skills (written, spoken and electronic)
• Experience of supervising others
• Minimum HNC qualification or equivalent & professional membership
