An organization within Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Sector, Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) is a leading innovator in advanced microelectronics design and fabrication. MDA is seeking a Sr Staff Manufacturing Systems Engineer. This position is located at Baltimore, MD locations.
We are seeking a Sr Staff Manufacturing Systems Engineer to oversee a large transition in our manufacturing line. This role will be responsible for the development of key strategies, the development of metrics, and the communication of progress over time. A deep understanding of superconducting manufacturing, and a strong communication skill will essential for success in this role.
This position requires work on site located at Linthicum, MD and/or Annapolis Junction, MD as needed.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage schedules for manufacturing transitions
- Develop and track technical progress metrics (TPM’s)
- Develop risk and opportunity management strategies and metrics
- Support program reviews
- Utilize superconducting electronics fabrication experience to shape the transition plans for manufacturing lines
- Coordinate between Chief Engineers, SEIT leads, engineering staff, suppliers, customers, and the PMO to achieve program objectives
What you need to be successful in the role:
- Knowledge of data administration and data standardization policies and standards.
- Knowledge of the capabilities and functionality associated with various technologies for organizing and managing information (e.g., databases, bookmarking engines).
- Skill in developing scalable data models.
- Knowledge of the characteristics of physical and virtual data storage media.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Skill in designing the best approach and architecture for automated data labeling and data lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Staff Manufacturing Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math), with 14+ years of experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math), with 12+ years of experience or PHD degree in a STEM area with 9+ years of experience.
- Deep understanding of superconducting electronics fabrication
- Experience with all aspects of wafer fabrication line startup, from proposal to first silicon
- Experience with technology transfer efforts
- Experience interfacing with Chief Engineers, SEIT leads, engineering staff, suppliers, customers, and the PMO to achieve program objectives
- Experience with requirements management
- Experience leading high-performing technical teams
- Experience briefing senior NGC management and customers
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Maters's degree in a technical area with 12 years of relevant experience (10 years with PhD)
- Deep understanding of superconducting electronics fabrication
- Experience with all aspects of wafer fabrication line startup, from proposal to first silicon
- Experience with technology transfer efforts
- Experience interfacing with Chief Engineers, SEIT leads, engineering staff, suppliers, customers, and the PMO to achieve program objectives
