About The Role
DP World are recruiting an experience Branch Manager to lead our established Freight Forwarding branch in Scotland which plays a key role in DP World’s logistics network across North Europe. Responsible for maintaining and growing the forwarding business, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting commercial efforts to drive sustainable growth. This is a leadership role with full accountability for branch performance, financial compliance, and customer satisfaction.
How You Will Contribute
- Provide operational guidance and support to the team, ensuring best-in-class freight forwarding practices.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and operational standards.
- Liaise closely with the Regional Director on all matters related to shipping operations and branch performance.
- Monitor team performance, recognising improvements or concerns, and take appropriate action.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing and invoice processing to meet month-end requirements.
- Identify training needs and support the development of team members.
- Promote compliance and adherence to SOPs across all customer accounts.
- Manage customer relationships, resolve queries and complaints, and escalate where necessary.
- Oversee workload distribution and ensure adequate staffing and handovers during leave periods.
- Monitor staff wellbeing, attendance, and overall engagement.
- Drive new business development by targeting and securing major accounts.
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships to maximise profitability.
- Provide regular performance analysis and strategic insights to senior leadership.
What you will bring
- At least 5 years in a global freight forwarding role.
- Full operational knowledge across air, sea, and land freight, including customs processes.
- Clear, confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Analytical thinker who enjoys tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions.
- Highly organised with a meticulous approach to accuracy and consistency.
- Able to assess complex situations and make sound, timely decisions.
- A strong team player who thrives in multicultural, cross-functional environments.
- Proactive, deadline-driven, and committed to delivering measurable outcomes.
- Maintain discretion and protects sensitive company information at all times.
