This position is a member of our Intergovernmental Relations Division.
Here’S What You’Ll Be Doing
- Monitor Agency Advisory Committees and interim legislative task forces and committees and evaluates the impact of committees’ reports and recommendation on the TCEQ.
- Assist in the development of TCEQ legislative initiatives for regular and relevant special sessions; develop bill analyses, summaries, and specific language as required.
- Respond to legislative inquiries in an accurate and thorough manner.
- Participate with agency implementation of new state and federal legislation.
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of the federal and state legislative process and state government administration
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus two years of full-time experience working with the federal or state legislature, legislative staff, or research services.
Or
A graduate degree in public administration, business administration, environmental resource management, planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university may substitute for two years of the required experience.
One year of full-time experience directly related to examples of work performed may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
This position may offer an opportunity for independent work from approved locations within the state of Texas. Regularly scheduled, bi-weekly staff collaboration days.
