About This Opportunity
The Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at QBI, led by Professor Jason Mattingley, has an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to cutting-edge research exploring how the brain regulates perceptual and cognitive processes. In this role, you will conduct human studies using behavioural testing and brain imaging techniques to investigate a range of executive functions, including decision-making, attention and predictive coding.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Research: Undertake human testing, conduct analyses of behavioural and brain imaging data using computational approaches, present results at conferences and scientific meetings, prepare manuscripts for publication, and collaborate with colleagues on joint research projects, develop a research program and emerging research profile, utilise best practice research methodologies.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Co-supervise Honours and Research Higher Degree students, support researcher development, provide professional development to supervisees, manage research support staff, resolve conflicts and grievances as they arise.
- Citizenship and Service: Uphold university values, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and develop partnerships with the wider community.

About You
- Completion of a PhD in experimental psychology or cognitive neuroscience, with expertise in human behavioural testing and brain imaging using MRI and/or EEG.
- Strong foundational knowledge of human cognition (decision-making, attention, executive control) and its neural underpinnings.
- Evidence of successfully completed research projects, scientific manuscripts and journal articles in cognitive neuroscience.
- Expertise in brain imaging data collection and analysis, computational modelling of behaviour, latent variable analysis.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including the right to work in Australia and education check.
